　　The sky is blue and clean. Many white clouds are in the sky. They look like sail boats. Take a deep breath, and then you may feel relaxed.

　　Last Sunday morning, my friend and I went to visit the Beijing Zoo. We went by bike. It took us about half an hour to get there. When we got there, it was already crowded with people. There were a lot of foreign visitors, too. It is said that the Beijing Zoo is the largest in Asia and one of the largest in the world. There are hundreds of different kinds of animals. It world take a whole day to see all the animals there. So we decided to see some of the most interesting ones. We saw the elephants first and then the monkeys. Finally we went to see our favourite "friends"--the giant pandas. We were delighted to see them waving to us. We really had a wonderful time in the zoo.

　　Yesterday we went to a nearby village to help the peasants get in the crops. We left our school early in the morning. It took us half an hour to reach the village. After lunch, we had a short rest. We were fascinated by the beautiful scenery of the countryside. It got dark when we returned home. We were very tired, but we felt very happy.

　　Last week a woman came to our school. She came to thank Wang Lin. The woman is Li Qiang's mother. This is the story she told us.

　　"A year ago, my son, Li Qiang, was seriously ill. He was so ill that he couldn't go to school. When Wang Lin learned it from the newspaper, he decided to do something to help my son.

　　He kept visiting my son and encouraged him. He helped him with his lessons once a week. They made good friends. With the help of Wang Lin, Li Qiang didn't feel lonely any more. Now Li Qiang has recovered. I am quite grateful to the boy for his kind help."

　　Do you know Nanjing? I went to Nanjing on the holidays. If you don't know it, I'll tell you something about the beautiful city.

　　Nanjing is very large. There are many tall buildings, and lots of flowers and trees. It takes 30 minutes to get to the center by car. When you go there, you must be very excited.

　　I went to Fuzimiao. I don't think you'll know it, so I'll tell you something unusual about it. Fuzimiao is a good place to go shopping. There are many nice streets in it. On the streets there are lots of shops, like clothes shops, bookshops and shoeshops. You can buy anything you like in the shops and you can find souvenirs in Fuzimiao. I like going there because there are a lot of interesting things in it and they make me happy.

　　I had a great time in Nanjing. If you can go to Nanjing, you must feel happy.

　　I used to be fond of skating. But now things have changed because of a horrible experience.

　　One winter, the weather was so cold that water turned into ice. One day on my way home, when seeing a frozen lake, I thought that the ice must be thick enough to support me. Being so interested in skating, I couldn’t help going down and sliding on the ice. Suddenly, I heard a sound of crack. Looking down, I saw the crack on the ice surface. I was frightened out of my life and didn’t dare to move. But nobody could help me. I had to move toward the bank carefully.

　　As soon as I got onto the bank, the ice broke. How horrible it was! Even ifit has been a long time since then, I can still feel the fear. And I no longer like skating since then.
